Helping Canadians Learn the Skills of Democracy |
||||||
|
Established in 1993, the Democracy Education Network (DEN) was founded to address the need for Canadians to develop their democratic skills, especially in the areas of problem-solving and decision-making. This need for democratic skills development has been determined through many studies by many governments and non-governmental institutions in Canada. For example, to see a summary of the conclusions of two federal government committees (and two leading commentators) concerning democracy skills education in Canada, click here. DEN does not promote any viewpoint on social issues. It focuses on helping Canadians participate effectively in decision-making processes with each other, and with governments and corporations. |
